I was born in 1978 near
Stuttgart and grew up in southwestern Germany with my parents, Christl and Horst, and my sister Melanie. Since September 2006, I have my own little family: Polina Shklyanoy (now Schultz) and I
got married in Polina’s home town of
Chicago and we’ve been living together in
New York City since then. In December of 2008, we will be moving back to Germany (
München, to be precise), since my visa status doesn’t allow me to remain in the United States after completing my PhD program at
Princeton University.
